We can visit this Brazilian landmark by car or every half hour by a train inaugurated by D. Pedro II in 1884. The station is located at Street Cosme Velho 513. Christ the Redeemer is a monument depicting Jesus Christ, located between the neighborhoods of Santa Teresa and the Alto da Boa Vista.

It was first opened at 7:15 p.m. on October 12 1931, after nearly five years of work. As a symbol of Christianity, the monument became one of the most internationally known icons of Rio de Janeiro and Brazil. On July 7, 2007, in Lisbon at the Estadio da Luz, it was elected one of the new Seven Wonders of the world.

The statue is the second largest sculpture of Christ in the world, behind only the Statue of Christ the King in Poland.
