A Brazilian student of mine in Dallas

Dear Nayla,
Greetings from Dallas!

Dallas City.jpg

I’m having a great time in Dallas. I arrived here with my girlfriend three weeks ago.
Dallas is the third largest city in the state of Texas and the ninth largest in the United States. It was founded in 1841 and was formally incorporated as a city in February 1856. Dallas is a very beautiful city. Here, a museum on the sixth floor of the Dealey Plaza Book Depository Building remembers the life and death of President John F. Kennedy. It is very interesting. In Dallas, restaurant options are limitless. The best restaurants offer a delicious cuisine, wonderful ambiances, and great services.

The day before yesterday, we went on a tour of the city and we met many people and places. We met Severina. She is from Brazil too. She studies English in the United States. She says she can write and read English pretty well, but she needs a lot of practice speaking English. She has been living in Dallas for about a year. She showed us the sights of the city. Later, we went to the new Jim Carrey film. It was fantastic. We had a great time.

Yesterday we went shopping and bought gifts for our  whole family. The weather wasn’t good. It rained a lot. In my opinion people shouldn’t travel in winter, but I’m very happy and would like to share this happiness with you.

     See you soon!
Fernando
